But, despite his worldwide army of female admirers, Aussie hunk Adam Garcia is still single. Not from lack of trying, though. Adam, judge on Sky1's Got To Dance, scotched rumours about his sexuality by insisting there's only one thing on his mind - girls. I do like British girls but I like Australian girls too. I just like girls - I am not going to put any nationality or bias on it. She's very pretty, she's a little northern soldier, a fighter.
Being a straight man in London is good. I was in Australia for Christmas and New Year and hanging out with my nephew and niece, who are under three. So I have been focusing on family a lot. As we chat over a cuppa in a London hotel, his eyes wander to every pretty female that walks past and unsurprisingly, they look back. He has starred in hit films such as Coyote Ugly and Riding in Cars With Boys and hit telly shows including Doctor Who but Adam is down to earth, relaxed, easygoing and annoyingly handsome.
I think promiscuity is the new black, apart from the rashes of course. I really don't mind, I am a pretty camp guy. I love a bit of camp. And England doesn't like camp? I did an interview with Alan Carr, for Christ's sake. You couldn't get away with being as camp as him in America. I could camp it up for the live shows, I could do a Jason Gardiner.
We have known each other since we were about 17 and dancing in Australia. He looks good all the time but I quite like him without the hair. He owed his chance, and the Olivier Award nomination that followed, to choreographer and axed Strictly judge Arlene Phillips, I was called back nine times because she really wanted me to do the role. She has been one of the dominating forces of dance in this country for decades.
I don't know why they took her off. Maybe we should manufacture some animosity between the pair of us. The show was panned and lasted only one series. He spent eight years in the capital before moving to Los Angeles. But he returned three years ago and is now firmly grounded in the UK. They have provided me with possibly every opportunity I have had in my career. It's accepted that everyone is going to be insincere and it works for them.
They accept that they are going to talk to people even if they are really thinking, 'I despise you'. In England, if people don't like you they tend to tell you to 'Eff off'. But in LA nobody is that sincere. I can't be like that. He became an instant hit with women round the globe after playing Kevin O'Donnell in the film Coyote Ugly - in which he stripped while dancing on a bar. But in movies it's cool.
I never realised when I did the movie how popular it would be. Girls now, when they hit 15 or whatever age, they watch Coyote Ugly. Some of them would have been three when it came out. Adam said he initially hesitated about taking the role. We're a bit like Britain's Got Talent for dancing, that's a fair analogy. He's such a wonderful actor but I think people have forgotten what a ridiculously good dancer he is.
The grand finale will air Sunday 14 February at 6pm. Adam has stepped into some great roles in his movie career.
